A Gentle Answer to the Izhar ul-Haqq

Introduction

A Muslim polemical book which was written nearly 150 years ago is still exerting a considerable influence in South Asia and other parts of the world where Muslims and Christians live together. Unfortunately, the Muslim book makes a sustained attack on the integrity of the Torah and Gospel. Izhar ul-Haqq ("Demonstration of Truth") does not demonstrate the truth of the Qur'an, but rather seeks to deny truth to the Bible. The effect has been to shut down friendly conversation on the contents of the scriptures. What is the best way to answer such an attack? Which accusations in the book have been the most disheartening for Christians? What materials have already been written in response? This section of the website is dedicated to the story surrounding Izhar ul-Haqq, the issues which led to the book and have been raised by it since it appeared, and the way ahead for interfaith conversation about the scriptures and their contents.
